At first, I told him not to tell anybody that he gave me socks for Valentines because well, it is a weird gift. He just replied with a smirk plus an uncomfortable chuckle. Not that I do not like what he gave me. In fact, I do not really fancy participating in such a capitalist-notion holiday. I do not want him to tell anybody, because, well, aside from being weird, it is almost embarrassing.
This is the part where he does not get why it is embarrassing. I even dared him that I will ask the opinion of the FB populace and for sure that the outcome will be in my favor. Again, he just replied with his trademark chuckle adding that I should probably ask people exactly on Valentines day.
But now, I changed my mind. I will not ask you people whether receiving socks for Valentines is weird and embarrassing (no question that it is!).

Words are not enough to tell you how grateful I am to have you in my life. You know that due to my weight gain, my ankles are always sore and often painful. Those socks really are comfortable and I just realized how sweet it is that you thought of that. Some people (including you, haha) would call it practical but for me it is more than that. Your love transcends all the cliches and formula of falling and being in love. I know that you always look after me and those socks are one of the proofs that true love, most of the time does not need to be expensive, glitzy or extravagant.
I don't have anything to give you this Valentine besides the promise that you can always count on me to cheer you up when you are feeling down or be that smoldering fire to perk up your... er, life.
Thank you for making me fall in love with you everyday -- for being that best pair of socks which make my life so comfortable and then some. ;)
